Celebrate the Year of the Snake… build your own JAC (Just A Cobra)! In 2025, you’ll finally have the opportunity to make your own JAC, the big flying snake from German master Wolfgang Schimmelpfennig. Kits are available in two sizes: the Micro JAC is 5’ wide x 20’ long, and the Mini JAC is 9’ x 36’. Available in six colors: red, purple, green, gray, light blue (aqua), and dark blue. Each kit includes all the pieces needed (laser cut from 3/4 ounce ripstop nylon), reinforcements, and bridle lines. You’ll also get access to the JAC-Friends group on Facebook, where you’ll find the 40+ pages of sewing instructions, and a community of JAC owners and builders who can assist with any issues you encounter as you build the kite at your own pace. Plus, we’ll throw in a discount coupon good for 10% off your next non-JAC order (emailed separately after December 5). Kits will be delivered in early 2025. Wolfgang says about his redesigned JAC, “The new Cobra has been completely redesigned except for the graphics. The maximum lift has been moved to the center of pressure and the air opening reduced to one. A valve flap prevents the air from escaping quickly when JAC is on the ground, allowing for a quick restart. Instead of airfoils, lines now give the Cobra its airfoil shape. JAC flies in the range of 2.5 Bft and 5Bft [about 6-24mph] without a lift. Below or above that a lifter is used.”
